6/5/2008 - CASA Womens Shelter First Annual "Walk in My Shoes" domestic violence training event. The event will provide a comprehensive overview of domestic violence definitions, dynamics of violence, victim choices, impact of battering on children, empowerment, advocacy, and collaboration. This is a hands-on interactactive training event. participants will actually walk in the steps of of the victims by actually checking into the shelter and participating in a training exercise with a "Mock" identy. Participants will gain knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and gain knowledge of how the shelter works and waht services are available. This even is open to men and women and is free of charge.
